I also don't understand the negative reviews for this office. I went for my first prenatal appointment this week after being referred to Caring for Women by a close friend and I was beyond impressed with the service I received. The people I interacted with were caring, extremely knowledgable, and very friendly. One of the nurses even came out to the waiting room to tell me they were running behind schedule. That's never happened to me before - usually I just sit and wait. The outside of the building isn't much to look at, but the inside is warm and inviting - more like a house and less like an office, which my husband and I loved. They are a very busy office and I did have trouble setting up an appointment, but personally I'd rather go to a place that's bursting at the seams with patients that one with very few (presumably because it wouldn't give very good care).

It seems like the negative reviews are coming from well-meaning, albeit naive sources. Ultimately, it's the patient's responsibility to check whether or not any health care provider is covered by his or her insurance. As far as the glucose test, that's fairly common practice, as most mom's-to-be benefit strongly from knowing if they have gestational diabetes or not. Women at a greater risk are usually give the test right off the bat instead of waiting to the 20 week mark like most women. I felt that nothing the physician said was pushing me to do anything I wasn't comfortable with. I would strongly recommend this office to anyone in the area!

Reading other people's reviews about this practice made me very aggravated. I LOVE my doctors at this practice. They have been nothing but caring, thoughtful and absolutely wonderful. I don't ever write reviews, but felt like I have to put in a good word for them. I always have high risk pregnancies and this practice has been a huge blessing in how they treated my concerns compared to the practice I came from. The reason I even switched to them is because I was looking for the most naturally minded OB in the area and they came highly recommended by a number of labor and delivery nurses from the nearby hospitals. I often end up as a support person for my friends' deliveries and have been very intentional to ask for nurses' opinions on doctors any time I had a chance.

Bottom line is that I love this group and highly respect them. I would not even consider going anywhere else for my next pregnancy.

Went here because of friend recommended. First time visit presented insurance card. No problem. They said they accept our insurance. Saw one of the doctors a few times. Got stuck with a bill today over $3000.00. Found out just because they said they 'accepted' our insurance won't mean wife is covered. Technically patients are supposed to ask 'Is this clinic IN-NETWORK?' What a bunch of crooks. CARING FOR WOMEN would have had me and my wife go bankrupt paying for her care up to delivery without letting us know our insurance does not cover anything there. No wonder the rude hag at the desk kept saying 'You will be billed AFTER the delivery.' When they would have taken us to the bank by billing us over ten thousand dollars without coverage. Bunch of no good, deceiving con-artists peddling cheap medicine here. CARING FOR WOMEN MY A$$. Lining their pockets by charging cash for out of network would-be mothers. These people make me sick.

Patient and Understanding

I do not agree with the other review. I had my first pap smear at the age of 27 and thought for sure I would get chewed out for waiting so long..

Not only was the staff patient and kind, but my doctor, who was probably the same age as me, was very calm, understanding, and gentle. She explained everything she was doing, and made sure I left with every question answered. I am now pregnent and plan on using this office throughout my entire term!
