Worst choice we ever made! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE! You'll find yourself advocating for yourself. We were deceived twice. Once about "required" optional insurance, again about another cancellation the company was trying to extend to us free. The company said they felt sorry for us, because we used these people. Once they book your ticket, you're toast. Nightmare vacation that could have all been prevented had we used any other service, or none. Poor communication at best. Don't trust me, read around the web! --->> THE OWNER WAS VERY RUDE

They became the biggest barrier to our vacation when they got OUR cruise tickets in their name, blocking us from access to changes (closed during critical time-frames, as they passed). Closed more often than opened, we had unexpected changes could have been free. The cruise company was trying so hard to help, but Smith Travel refused to unlock tickets. Not a single agreement or contract, choosing what options they thought we wanted without a single message or call, the company said they offer everyone. Once they have your money, they've got you, period. We were deceived twice (claiming "optional" insurance is required, saying we'd lose 100% ticket $ for a change). Cruise company desperate to help, advocating on our behalf against Smith Travel (shouldn't it be the other way around?). Smith Travel became our biggest problem, looking after ONLY their own interests. I recommend an attorney, like other reviewers suggest, if you use them. All other passengers got choices, except us, as a punishment for using Smith Travel.

i.e., A local favorit User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars by taken advantage of 11/10/2009 unfortunately, i have nothing good to say about this travel agency. they ruined a once in a lifetime trip of ours that can't be repeated. they sent us to the wrong location in the dominican republic and then admitted it in writing to the better business bureau. they refuse to compensate us in any way or take any responsibility. please stay away from this company, any company can send you anywhere you want to go. this was part of a dreams package where the hotel wasn't to be chosen until we reached the airport. we were supposed to have been sent to one of two hotels in punta cana. we were told at the airport we were being sent to la romana. what can you do when you are standing, ready to board with a two year old in tow. smith travel said we should not have boarded but should have cancelled. that would have been impossible for us to do at that point. beware! have your lawyer at your side when you sign w
