Avoid this emergency unit all costs! I have heard horror stories about this hospital for many years. As of yesterday, I personally found out why it has such a terrible reputation. The staff in the critical care section of the emergency care unit are with out a doubt the most uncaring, and unconcerned and inefficient group of medical people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with! Take my advice PLEASE...bring your loved one some where else! Many, many staff people chatting, eating, laughing..doing anything but being concerned with patient needs! Once seen and put in a booth, you are forgotten. My husband came in with heart problems...when I arrived, the moniter was blaring with an alarm and no one came in...he had no shirt due to the wires and various moniters stuck to him....he was just laying there...no blanket, no sheet..nothing. His blood pressure was 170/90 and no cared. He had a terrible headache from the nitro...no one cared. He needed to relieve himself and I had to find someone who would stop chatting to listen to me. A woman came in and tossed a plastic uninal on the gurney! No food or drink for 7 hours altho he was told they would bring him dinner "right away". I had to MAKE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS TO GET HIM INTO A ROOM...he is disabled and laying on a gurney for 7 hours, WAS agony. I could go on but I think the point has been made. STAY AWAY and go elsewhere...for your own health!
