I dropped my car off about 3:30 pm. I got a call about 4:15 regarding the codes and the recommendation to rebuild the transmission. I was quoted a price of $1000.00. I decided not to rebuild the transmission. When spoke to Tommy he said the transmission was out and it would be $586.00 because I did not want to go thru with the rebuild. Tommy said that the transmission was taken out the day. I dropped the care off at 3:30 and got the call on what was wrong at 4:15 I told them to go a head and break the transmission down and tell me what is wrong with it. Tommy then calls me and advise I buy an used transmission, because my transmission can not be rebuilt. Now that is going to cost me $1700. Tommy found a used transmission for $850.00. I told Tommy just get the car ready to be towed. Now Tommy says I owe them $500. When I called Tommy the prices change from $850.00 to a $100,00 to $1,700. I called another transmission shop the guy said which shop Cookson's or Allstate Transmission.

DO NOT GO HERE! They will rip you off! I went in March to get my truck fixed. When I took it in it was still drivable. They gave me a quote of 800 dollars. I left it. The following week they called and said it was gonna be 2400. I said I'll just take it back. They said the transmission was already taken out and we're unable to put it back in and then charged me 500 dollars for labor to take it off. Horrible place. Do not lose your money!

On a friday evening I noticed what seemed to be the beginnings of a failing transmission or solenoid problem,thankfully it was a minor problem and my car was still functioning enough to drive with only an occasional symptom. Knowing it is best to get a transmission problem repaired ASAP ,I called the only place I could find open on a Saturday That was Cookson.I called the place and spoke with a man named "Tommy" who assured me he would do a free diagnostic without entering into a repair contract.I drove my car 25 miles to his shop and upon arriving he said he would do a diagnostic free of charge all I had to do was sign a paper.READ THE FINE PRINT, on the paper in fine print is authorization to do any repair work deemed necessary.When I was reading over the paper I was verbally prodded to go ahead and sign.I responded that I would not sign I would only agree to a diagnostic not the repair work as we had previously spoken about. Furthermore, I explained to Tommy that I was hesitant to authorize the mechanic work from the previous bad review online and that the review mentions that he has a lot full of vehicles with mechanic liens on them,he confirmed that he presently has 6 vehicle has has taken possession of.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT THE CONSUMER AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!IF YOUR CAR BREAKS DOWN IN FRONT OF THIS SHOP HAVE IT TOWED TO ANOTHER SHOP!!!! IF THERE WAS NEGATIVE STAR RATING I WOULD BE GIVING THIS A FIVE STAR NEGATIVE!
