Established in 1973, American Swim Academy offers instruction in swimming. It maintains a location in Dublin, Calif., and teaches stroke techniques to children for various levels of swimming. The institution helps swimmers to develop independence and body awareness in water. American Swim Academy teaches swimming techniques, as well as water safety skills that include falling in, survival back floats and treading water. It features a ribbon program that rewards and motivates swimmers as they move on to proceeding levels. The institution features special swimming programs for tiny tots, pre school children, beginners and intermediate level kids. American Swim Academy also conducts water aerobics classes that consist of aerobics, stretching and resistance training. In addition, it features water therapy programs and maintains additional facilities in Fremont, Newark and Livermore, Calif.
