They want your card number to charge you $55. I was told that the $55 would be backed out of the overall repair bill. I agreed and they gave me a time between 1pm and 4pm. The repairs to the dryer were made and the dryer works. They asked for a check for $431.72. I asked if they backed out the $55. They said that's something different, that I would have to work it out with the people I had called (Double Oak). The invoice was under the name of Jackson Appliance Service but they said that I should make the check out to DFW Appliance Repair. (The cost of the heating element from Sears Parts Direct web site is $105.07.) A man from Double Oak called after the repairmen left and wanted to know if the repairmen had shown up. I asked about the $55 being backed out of the repair and was told that I shouldn't have been told that, because Double Oak is a referral service and the $55 is their fee. I paid $55 based on false information. Double Oak Appliance Repair does not imply referral service.
