Hood Landscaping failed to adequately prepare the soil for hydro-seeding on a new home construction site in 2015. Out of state owners take heed. If you are not there to supervise your site work don't count on anyone else's supervision. They sent no water trucks to water the newly seeded areas post seeding. When reviewing the essentially failed growth in July 2106 with the contractor, Gore Range Homes, LLC, I was now told the site had "poor" soil. I relied on the professionals working on this custom home to do what was right and necessary. Ultimately the general contractor is responsible for all subcontractors work. But this review is about Hood Landscaping. Hood Landscaping sent a subsequent 2016 proposal to finish the site work and it included re-doing the work they did in 2015 but this time they were going to add good soil over the poor soil and re-seed again those areas done in 2015. Does anyone like being asked to pay twice for the same work? It would have been excellent customer service to re-seed the failed areas at no cost to me and that would have been satisfactory to me. Instead they told the general contractor, Gore Range Homes, LLC, they would refund me the 2015 costs. They have not followed through in that either. See my full review of Hood Landscaping with photos on Houzz. I did not receive an official proposal from HOOD in July 2015, only that which the builder told me. Contained in this email below from my builder GRH, LLC (July 13, 2015) there is no mention of topsoil addition or watering to be done. This is the seeding that failed. And Hood was going to charge 2x for the same work plus additional work in 2016. THAT is why their proposal was rejected. Who wants to bilked and charged twice to fix what was done poorly the first go round? The failed growth was evident in 2016 and they did not refund me for their poor work originally. They said they would refund my costs of 2015 which they did not do. They have zero integrity or honesty. GRH email to the owner July 2015 for the first site work (do you see topsoil or irrigation mentioned?)."Hi xxxxx, The estimated cost to hydro seed the three areas we discussed is $2,210.00. This includes the hillside east of the house, the leach field and the new road bank across from the bottom of the driveway. With your approval, I will proceed with the hydro seeding next week. xxx plans to work on the culvert outlet this week so that will be ready for seed. Please let me know to proceed."
