Founded in 1999, Oakland International Academy is a public school academy serving more than 600 students from grades kindergarten through 12. Based in Detroit, Mich., it comprises Oakland Intermediate School, Oakland Elementary School and Oakland Middle-High School. The school teaches numerous elementary school subjects, including language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, computer applications, physical education and Arabic. Oakland International Academy also provides ancillary student support services. In addition, the school prepares students for post-secondary settings, such as college, university or institute of higher education.
