Founded in 1966, the Federation of Youth Services is a nonprofit child welfare agency that provides services to residential, community-based homeless children and families throughout Detroit. It serves youths with physical and sexual abuse, neglect, abandonment and severe emotional disorders. The agency offers counseling, trauma assessment, treatment and education to children, youths and adults. The Federation of Youth Services offers respite care, residential support, personal and social assistance, mental health and case management programs. In addition, it provides crisis intervention, outpatient treatment and substance abuse therapies, as well as operates specialty services for the prevention of prevention of child abuse, domestic violence, drug addiction and homelessness. The agency operates the Parenting & Child Development Training Program, Transitional Living Supervised Independent Living Program and Williams House Residential Program. It is located in Detroit.
