River Woods Elementary School is a learning center that is a part of Des Moines Public Schools, which operates more than 60 educational institutions and teaches over 30,500 students. The school provides educational programs to students in prekindergarten through grade five. River Woods Elementary School employs a staff of nearly 60 full-time, certified teachers, paraprofessionals, library assistants, guidance counselors, reading coaches, and art and music professionals. In addition, the school has a team of special education aides, physical education instructors, and speech and language pathologists. Located in Des Moines, Iowa, River Woods Elementary School conducts classes in the English Language Learners (ELL) program.
