Ordered a champaign cake and received a lousy plain white cake. Called to complaign and Melinda nicely said it was my problem and asked that I no longer be a customer of theirs and she didn't feel my complaint was worthy of discussing with the owner. Melinda didn't want to resolve the problem. We tried to resolve the following business day, but they were closed on Monday. Plain and simple, you you don't know what you're going to receive and it will be your fault for receiving the wrong cake. In the end, I let down my child because he wanted champaign cake for his 18th birthday and he ended up with a lousy plain white cake. I don't undertstand how one can misunderstand a champaign cake from a white cake. Very unprofessional.

I have been getting birthday cakes here for at least 30 years and it is the best bakery in town!! Their cookies and doughnuts are awesome too!

Hiland Bakery has been around forever! They have the best quality donuts in Des Moines!!

They have the best sugar cookies! Very soft and fresh tasting, great designs and shapes. Yum!!
