I was billed by Medical Center Anesthesiologists after a trip to Iowa Ortho for some diagnostic tests. I never left the Iowa Ortho premises. I was never informed I was seeing another doctor from another hospitcal. And I was never given the opportunity to check to see if this doctor was in my network. He wasn't, (Dr. Klein) and I'm stuck with a $640 bill for a 5 minute shot and an x-ray. Which, by the way, was over double the charge of any other x-ray I had ever received. After months of trying to get some proof that I accepted treatment from them, they were unable to provide any at all. Instead they just stated it was my problem, pay the balance or else, and hung up the phone. The billing department there is full of some of the most rude, unhelpful people I have ever met in my entire life. I had drill sergeants in my Army career that were kind and generous in comparison. This sort of activity should be illegal, if it isn't already. Be sure I'm checking into it.
