This is my first Google review and I never thought I would get on and give someone 1 star but today was terrible. I always wait at least 30 minutes to see the doctor. It took me 3 and a half hours to get out of there today and it should have been 2 hours tops. I was told I am last priority because I have Medicaid and I am lucky he sees me anyway. WOW. I never even complained and he had the nerve to tell me that after he was done. Not to mention he had someone else doing my fillings who was distressed and needed help and that's probably what took so long. He told her what light to use then walked away and started using that light on another patient so we had to wait! Ridiculous. You sit in a room with the other patients no privacy and he just keeps bopping around instead of seeing one person at a time. Very awkward and non professional. At the end, after I was told my Medicaid would cover everything, I was told there was actually about 500.00 of what I needed done that would not be covered. How can you tell me that months after you told me everything would be covered and after my 3 and a half hour appointment? If I had known that I would have asked him to fill the cavities on the side that was bothering me more. WORST communication. And then he was upset at me because I was upset that it was not all getting covered after I was clearly told it was. He kept saying "it was just an estimate" Yeah well maybe you should have told me that beforehand. I walked out of there after he was rude to me because I was upset I was misinformed. No apology or anything. And they don't even do nice things for you at this office like put Vaseline on your lips or a movie. Skip this place! You don't want to deal with this rude guy and no privacy or the attention you deserve at your appointment. Nobody should watch their dentist hop around and wait for him to come back while he is seeing someone who came after you and you've already waited 45 min to get started!

I really have to tell you about Escala Family Dentistry. I stopped going to the dentist after i was no longer was insured on my mothers dental plan. I am now 27. I ended up going to Bright now dental - A very uninviting place to say the least ( Colfax and Wads- Leaving review for them after) I was NOT told that i had Periodontal Disease- Just given an estimate of $10,000. I left and Never went back. Last month my wisdom teeth started growing in. I knew i would have to get over my fear. I found Dr. Escala's Office on my comp's website. I called to make an appointment and Dr Escala answered.He explaine everything to me. At my appointment, I was told i had the periodontal disease and the hygienist named Tracy cried with me- I knew at that moment how much they really cared about their patients. Dr Escala did not treat me any different and told me he was committed to treatment to maintain my teeth. They are the best place i have ever been- I have just had my surgery and it went Great. Jen
