I have no idea how this company has any positive reviews... They quoted me $1,309 to buy a toilet from them and have them install it. Is that some kind of a sick joke?? Needless to say I turned them down... One of the easiest decisions of my life.

We've been customer's of Applewood for a number of years. We have always received wonderful service from them. This time out, we needed a toilet and sink installed in the bathroom. Not only did the technician come earlier than originally scheduled, But, Scott was quick to provide our quote and get to work. He was very nice, respectful and informative as to what he was going to do and what needed to be done.

We are very pleased with Applewood and feel you get what you pay for. We had our hot water heater replaced (14 years old and needed to be replaced before selling house in a couple years) and a part in our kitchen faucet replaced (leaking handle). Technician was pleasant and explained things and how things worked. We were pleased with the quality of work. We have used Applewood for other services and feel you get what you pay for. We have had problems with going with the cheaper companies for other things such as windows, kitchen renovations and have regretted those decisions.

I Would day stay away from them. I had them come out to look at my furnance and I paid $187 for him to tell me that I had a cracked heater exchange. I i talked to my brother who had someone else come out to look at it and they said there where no cracks in the heat exchange and even had me look at all the system myself. I paid applewood to come out to say I needed a new furnance and they're did not even clean it for me. They said a new furnance would cost me $5800 or $8500 plus. I will never use them again because I do not trust them or what the say.

FRAUD ALERT! I wish I could give negative stars...

I am a Realtor with a large firm in the Metro area. I just helped an elderly client use her "bad drug" settlement which gave her cancer to purchase a home in Aurora. There were some items that needed to be addressed in this home, but nothing major, and we were compensated from the seller to address these items after closing.

Now comes Applewood...Unbeknownst to me my client called this company and began hemorrhaging the rest of her cancer settlement money to these crooks. First they charged her nearly $4000 for a hot water heater. After seeing an opening, I imagine, they quoted her $11,000 for a new air conditioner compressor (not including furnace or anything else) and $11,000 for a replacement electrical panel to replace an old Federal Pacific Stab Lock panel (meanwhile there is a brand new square d panel on the back of the house they could have used)....as soon as I heard this I told her to call them at once and tell them to stop all work and to also call her bank and stop payment on these checks.

THESE CROOKS SAW THE OPPORTUNITY TO STEAL FROM AN ELDERLY CANCER SURVIVOR AND TAKE EVERY LAST BIT OF HER SETTLEMENT MONEY FOR THEIR OWN GAIN.

They will not hear the end of this from me until they are blasted on air from every investigative journalist in the city. WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IS WRONG, and I will not stand for it.

Stay away from Applewood. Bad news--exhorbitant charges, horrible service response times, bad customer service. Don't know how or why Team Dave Logan would have this company on their list but you would be wise to stay away from this company.

Prompt, courteous efficient service following sump pump failure and flooded basement. I have used them for a furnace, humidifier, electric panel, sewer line breakage all with good service to code.

The Applewood plumber said that it would cost $1250 to replace my garbage disposal (with a 1/2 h.p. unit). Fortunately from previous experience I know something about the costs and showed him to the door. I just bought a 3/4 h.p. unit from Home Depot and have lined up a plumber to install it for $125. DO NOT USE APPLEWOOD!!!

We had Applewood Plumbing come to our house while I was in the hospital. They told my wife we needed things replaced that didn't need replacing. They took us for a lot of money! We hired them because of recommendations from the Dave Logan site. NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!!

Never trust Applewood Plumbing! As shown on a Channel 31 segment, their technicians are paid a commission so they are highly motivated to suggest unneeded work and charge astonomical prices! Today, a potential homebuyer asked Applewood to inspect the plumbing in our house, The technician/salesperson indicated that our garbage disposal needed to be replaced even though it is working. He quoted a price of $879 unless you become a "Club Member" for who knows how much, in which case the cost would be $744. I checked at Home Depot. A similar capacity Insinkerator garbage disposal, which was highly recommended by the Home Depot person cost $99.99, with an installation charge of $120. Whoever heard of a $879 garbage disposal?

The Applewood salesperson/technician said a new sink pop-up was needed, although this also works. Quoted price $306.24, unless you're a "Club Member", in which case the price is $263.80. I didn't bother checking at Home Depot, but I'm pretty sure this is a $10 item and can easily be replaced. I guess the $296 additional cost is due to a licensed plumber doing the work.

Our sump pump is working but it pumps into the floor sewer. The Applewood salesperson said that it would cost $2,847.75 to install a pipe to pump the water outside. Unless, once again, you're a "Club Member" in which case the cost is "only" $2,414. By this time I'd like to take a "Club" to the idiotic salesperson!

We have polypropylene pipes which the potential buyer is concerned about. The Awood saleperson quoted a price of between $10k and $15k. I called an got 2 additional quotes, one from a company that specialized in replumbing. The replumbing company quoted a price of $4,400 and a plumbing company quoted a price of $5,600.

There were other items on the list, but you get the idea. Bottom line, don't call Awood for anything! If you do, at least do you due diligence and get at least 2 other quotes. If you do this, you'll never end up using Awood.

In my aggravation, I've already told about 10 people about my experience. Some had already heard about Awood. As other posters have commented spread the word about Awood! They are among the most sleazy companies around.

I would have given them zero stars, or 5 negative stars, but apparently you have to give them at least 1 star.

Applewood quoted me $1900 to repair my furnace - which would take him "about a half hour to install." I called the HVAC supply store and the part is $110. $1800 for not even an hour's work????

Do your research people. Applewood will rip you off. Spread the word.

I called about a few outlets in our computer room that had stopped working randomly. Applewood shows up and their employee is courteous, prompt, professional, all that good stuff. Takes the time to chat up my wife and be all friendly, establish a rapport, gets her to trust him for what's apparently standard practice for Applewood. Takes a look in my attic and says it's a mess, not up to code, fire hazard, etc, wants to redo the whole thing for $4,000. I asked what it would take to just make that one room safe and get the outlets working. $800. Went online, started reading reviews, learned that this is common practice for Applewood.

I called a trustworthy electrician (JK Electric, based on their Yelp reviews) and asked them to take a look, he said yeah, it's a little messy, but based on the house being built in 1960 with a few renovations and such through the years, it's totally normal looking wiring, completely safe, boxes are mounted well above insulation, looked fine to him. Maybe not 100% to the code standards for new construction, but done right for the time and not a fire hazard. Got the outlets working (squirrels chewed on the wiring was his hypothesis) and upgraded everything to 3 prong, upgraded a few outlets in the bedroom to 3 prong and installed a dimmer in another room for $275. Was equally punctual, professional, doesn't bother my wife (she doesn't want to talk to an electrician! She wants to get on with her day and get the house fixed) except with updates as the work progresses, explanations of what he's up to, the necessary stuff.

Will be telling anyone who'll listen to avoid these con men in the future.

***EXTORTIONISTS**** WILL ROB YOU; GET A SECOND AND MORE SOUND OPINION BEFORE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CLOWNS. Had a sewer line back up. Their plumber said it needed an emergency $6,000 repair to a $20,000 line replacement. He left behind his report for a "thorough line cleaning" for $409.00 With such a big expence, called another company for a second opinion. They were not surprised to here about Applewood trying to scam me. They scoped the line for free made me a dvd both before and after they cleaned it, proving Applewood did not clean the line. They then charged $99 for the cleaning. ***Never use Applewood***

They checked out my furnace, and made a recommendation. I wasn't comfortable with it. Lo and Behold, John and his son, Josh, called me. They are "for real" here in Denver, and they met my needs. Later, I asked my neighbors about this business, as I am new to Denver. And they wondered how I called them first as I was new here to this town. Nevertheless, they said Applewood Plumbing is the bomb, but don't confuse it with Appletree as they are trying to confuse the name.

My husband and I replaced our air conditioner at our home in Aurora. Applewood was very efficient and provided excellent service. They arrived at the time promised and completed the job in the time-frame promised. We are quite pleased with our new unit and the service provided by this company. WAY TOO EXPENSIVE

I am not impressed that the quote I received from Applewood for a tankless water heater was over $10,000. I cannot believe it. I could buy a good used car for that amount.

I had a tankless water heater installed two days later by a very reputable company for $2,200.00.
