About a month ago I brought my Lakland Hollow Body bass to you for repair of the bridge pickup. At that time you noticed the neck had a pronounced bow to it. So I added that repair and a setup to the list of your service "to do" list. I just wanted to say thanks for the great job you did. You got it repaired in 48 hours, and I used it two days later at a gig. That bass has never played or sounded better. As you said it would be, the neck being trued-up makes it much easier to play, and certainly the intonation is much improved. Your knowledge of applying the heat treatment to the neck really worked very well for this bass.

I have been a customer here for around 15 years and I can say that I have received excellent service every step of the way from both the work shop and the retail store. I personally value the lengths taken by this guitar shop to insure each and every instrument on the retail sales floor remains in absolutely perfect/new condition. If I am spending money on a new guitar I expect it to be free of any marks or indentations from store player wear. The Stratocaster I recently purchased was flawless. Erik, the Owner/Luthier of Sky Guitars, has an eye for detail and execution that is second to none. After counting on Sky Guitars to set up or repair over a dozen guitars over the years, each one has come back simply perfect. To sum it up.....buy a new guitar here with confidence that it will be perfect and set up free of charge and drop off that vintage high dollar instrument for repair without a worry.

Since I started playing guitar in the mid 90's there's only one place I take my guitar, Sky Guitars. The one time I took it somewhere else was a nightmare, and I ended up having to take it to Sky Guitars to have the other shop's work repaired. When I first started going here as a teenager it was just some little hole in the wall repair shop, where the luthier Erik looked like he was going to be buried by all the guitars crammed into the little room. They've expanded though, gotten bigger, however the service has always stayed fantastic. Only once have I ever had an issue with the work done, but I took it back and they fixed it for free. I don't know how good their prices are as a music store (though they always have good specials on strings when I get a set-up), but when it comes to getting work done on your guitar or getting a set-up, this is the place to go.

Everyone in the store was cordial and helpful. There was a refreshing feeling of zero sales pressure. I typically buy everything online for this reason. I'd apologized to the guy for taking so much of his time in showing me the Martin's. He said no worries, that they aren't paid commission, and he just wanted to make sure I found what I was looking for. Here lies the key to why this store is my go-to for anything music related. Any store owner who'd run the business no commission based, while paying higher hourly wages, knows this will make both the employees and more importantly the customers happy. No longer will I mad dash through Guitar Center to avoid the salesman sharks. You guys have earned full-time customer. I recommend this store to everyone. Extremely high quality instruments and kind, generous employees!

Sky Guitars did a great job fixing up my late father's 1960s Gretsch for me! The rear pickup had never worked since I've used it. I took it in on Christmas Eve (Thursday), and they were able to have it ready to go on Monday so I could fly back to New York with it. Erik was extremely helpful and made me feel very comfortable trusting him with an instrument that has incredible sentimental value. He was very clear about the possibilities of being able to meet my tight timeline along with the challenges of having to do all the work through the pickup mounts because it has no rear-access panel. This did make the work more expensive, but the cost was reasonable. He tested the pickup right away after I dropped it off and called to let me know the pickup itself worked and that he'd be able to complete the work over the weekend. He provided an updated estimate for cleaning all the electronics, repairing the binding, and doing a setup/adjustment with new strings.When I picked it up, the other store employees were also friendly and helpful. They gave good recommendations on strings for a relative's acoustic guitar, and Erik demonstrated how all the switches on my guitar work. As someone who is obviously a beginning guitar player, I was very appreciative that they were so welcoming and encouraging. I'm so glad I was able to get this work done in Denton!
