DSLD has been so wonderful to work with! They are very responsive, and make the processing of building a new home fun and stress-free. I also love that energy efficiency is a priority for them.

DSLD could not have made the home buying process any easier! We love our new home and you can not beat the warranty that they have to offer.

My entire house is falling apart! Cracks all over the walls, one is over 6 ft. long. My house is four years old and is in worse shape than most fifty year old homes. In parts I can see my subfloor. Walls peeling away/buckling, and nails starting to bust through the drywall.I bought a NEW house to make my Home so I wouldn't have to deal with a situation like this. This is a nightmare, I do not feel safe in my own house. I feel at any point the roof will collapse. I have been trying to get assistance with these issues, and thus far have met with an initial response "It is normal settling" The worker sanded the top of my door going into my master bathroom until it would shut, with no fix for the gaping quarter inch crack in my drywall above it. The next attempt to seek help was met with a worker that would give no info or opinions as to what is wrong or how ,or when it would be addressed. This same guy took measurements with a bubble level on my CARPET. They offered a warranty extension, yet will not clarify what the issue is, or the underlying cause. I am tired of waiting for a response to a problem that should have been addressed the first time I contacted DSLD. New cracks are appearing daily. I am disgusted.

At first site, DSLD homes are attractive and the price point is very reasonable. After that ... caveat emptor! BUYER BEWARE. First, you must use their mortgage company to finance the house. The mortgage company is part of DSLD. The closing process was so complicated and invasive beyond what is necessary for a typical closing, you start to question wether or not you want to purchase the home. The rigid DSLD guidelines for features within the home would not allow me to make any asthetic changes inside the house even though it was still under construction. They would not let me choose tile, they would not put lamenent floors in the bedrooms, they laid carpet because that was in the decorator plan. I was unable to change even the most simple asthetic to my preference because it was not in the decorator plan. Kitchen backsplash, flooring, etc. Additionally, there are major issues within the house that are causing major problems. DONT DO IT.
