If you're sick of the corporate-owned, fast-food types of hair salons and would rather enjoy the old days of a home-town barber, then Headlines is the place for you. Nestled in downtown DeKalb, next to the local hardware store and watering hole, Headlines is conveniently located with easy access and parking in an area where the local parking Nazis don't harass you. Inside, you'll enjoy a warm-feeling of a Northwoods bar where you'll see trophy fish on the walls and a Hamm's beer sign with moving water hung over a warm cozy fireplace. All around the shop you'll find fishing and car memorabilia as well as an ample supply of car magazines to browse through. Sit back in one of the many chairs around the shop and shoot the breeze. You can't buy this kind of ambiance anywhere, but for a little more than ten bucks you can get decent haircut, escape the outside world for at least a little while and enjoy good conversation among friends.
