I asked for 1000 square feet of concrete for my driveway. Joe said he would do it and got the permit which took him 8 months to do. He made up many excuses during these 8 months. He said it would take 2 days to complete but this entire thing took 3 weeks. When he got started on the driveway he cut one of my garage wires and left it on the floor which could have resulted very badly. He poured the gravel leveled to the doorstep and the basement window ledge. I asked him how many inches of cement he wanted to do and he said 4 but if he did the 4 inches then it would cover the basement windows and stop the door from opening. I told him I did not want it like this and that I wanted it the same height as it was originally before he started. He then took off the gravel off and wanted to pour the concrete onto the mud. I told him this is not how it was going to happen. He then started to pour the gravel onto the mud which was not flattened out. The gravel depth was very inconsistent. He put a depth of 4 inches of gravel but the concrete would have been only 2 inches on the driveway. He tried many times to find shortcuts as it seemed like he did not want to do his job properly. I brought an engineer and he said this was a very bad job so far. He said the middle of the driveway would only have 2 inches of concrete. We told Joe to take off the mud and get new gravel and we would pay him an extra $1000 and he agreed to it. He asked for more money and we gave him a check and he took the dirt and put it in front of the driveway in a big pile, cashed the check, and left. We messaged him many times when will he come but he would make many excuses and say, tomorrow, but never showed up.

The point of this is that he is a liar, scammer, and a fraudster. Please for the sake of your sanity do not call him or make business with him. You are better off paying a little bit more for someone else. Anyone that deals with him will be a victim like me.

Stay away from Joe and Sons Concrete.

Joe and crew very prompt cleaned up reasonable price straight forward. They did my neighbors cement and we had them give an estimate great group Highly recommend
