If you're thinking about having Solar-Fit (Holly Hill, FL) install a solar water heater for yourself or someone you know, think again.

They put one in for us about a year and half ago. We've had nothing but yucky orange water with a strange sediment.

Despite numerous attempts, we've gotten nothing from the company but runaround, unanswered calls, lip service and one suggestion for us to pay a water specialists to solve the problem.

We even placed a call to the company president on 12/3/15, who like the company's technical people, never returned our call.





and this is the residue/sediment that comes out of the bottom of the same tank along with the orange water.





Solar-Fit's answer? "Call your water treatment people" (we have a water softener, they have come out twice and confirmed that the softener is not the source of the problem).

And if that's not the problem (we've confirmed it's not)? Solar-Fit told us to "call a water specialist"; hmm...

Seriously! Solar-Fit wants us to do their R&D. We've already spend nearly $270 for our water softener people to come out and confirm that the softener is not the cause of the orange water. Now Solar-Fit wants us to hire a water specialist to do more research and development at our expense. Isn't that what a solar water heater company is supposed to be? A water specialist?

We have done some research on our own (I've brought in my water softener people, I've talked to the solar tank manufacturer, I'm in touch with the solar panel manufacturer, I've given Solar-Fit samples of the orange water and the sediment). I've even suggested to Solar-Fit how to verify what component(s) might be causing the problem, their answer? You guessed it: silence. They are doing nothing to solve this problem; they don't even return our calls.

Since we can't get thru to Solar-Fit, since they are unwilling to work with us, we have no choice but to, at least, make sure people know what kind of company Solar-Fit is and what poor customer service and dismal technical support they provide.

If Solar-Fit is unwilling or unable to solve the problem, they can at least remove their solar heater, restore our original system and return our money. We have made this suggestion to them, we have heard nothing back.

In the spirit of full disclosure, only Joe Giordano (sales rep) has stayed in touch with us. He even brought in an independent water treatment person to test our water, and confirmed, that our softener is not the cause of the problem. Joe's has been very responsive, but even he's been unable to get his company 's technical people to act. We thank Joe for his kind efforts.

Please do NOT do business with Solar-Fit until they learn how to solve these serious technical problems. If you buy a system from Solar-Fit, they will NOT provide any technical support or customer service after the sale.
