If you're looking for good food, you've found your place. But unfortunately you can find a place with good food that is ruined by the service or even the attitude of those providing your food. This is what I encountered at Ajanta: a dull environment (depressing colors), unfriendly service (depressing people), but great food! At times I was a little afraid to ask for things cause I was afraid I would be annoying my male waiter (I had two waiters). I usually do not drink out of restaurant glasses because most places do not do a great job of disinfecting the glasses, so I like to ask for a straw. My waiter seemed to be frustrated with my request and so threw the straw on my plate. He even ignored my mom when she asked what type of rice he was putting down on the table. I had to give him a second request in a demanding tone in order for him to reply.



However, the food was fantastic. For starters, me and my mother shared the mixed platter with samples of several appetizers on the menu. For the main entree, I had chicken Sigaan and my mother ordered Lamb korma. Both dishes were tasty, but I think the korma was tastier. Our bread addition was the garlic nan, which was great as well. The portions are nice sized and the food is reasonably priced. Coming from New York City I know good Indian, but my only issue is the cold service. All in all if you don't need service with a smile and a pleasant attitude to enjoy your food, this is a great place.
