For over 30 years my Dad, Ron Phipps, has owned and operated Darien Plate Glass. As he approached the age of retirement, he began to ask my sister and me if we had interest in stepping in his shoes and taking over the business. An inconceivable notion at first, after much deliberation and consideration, I made a career change from elementary education to co-owning a business, taking my father up on his offer and stepping into his expansive shoes. We are now co-owners of our establishment, as he has decided to stay on for a while to educate and support me. Together, we have worked diligently to expand Darien Plate Glass into a myriad of elements pertaining to the glass business, such as shower doors, custom mirrors and glass, tabletops, replacement windows and window repair, glass shelving, screens and storm windows, doors and commercial storefronts.We pride ourselves on pristine craftsmanship, quality products and superb customer service at fair and honest prices. It has been a rewarding experience to forge everlasting relationships with our wonderful customers, meeting and working with exceptional individuals and being a part of quality projects; the ultimate reward being the indelible experiences and moments I share with my dad each day.
