Called yesterday and left a message for propane power out since Tuesday and was getting low; they were here at 7:30 am Sunday morning filling me up and although I finally got power they stepped up and helped me out.... great company!

We have contacted this customer various times since he made this post. Based on our records, his review of our company does not seem to relate to our products and services. Prior to this review, a minor traffic accident took place between this customer’s vehicle and one of our service vehicles early in 2015. We worked with this gentleman and came to a very reasonable resolution, which we followed through on. The customer stayed with our company following the resolution of the accident and never mentioned any issues with our products or services. We invite this customer to please contact us if there is a problem or issue that we have overlooked.

i am suspicious of reviews on mitchell oil company on this website. check out "treycdiggins" review from 05/24/2011. he posts that he has been using mitchell oil for 6 years. so, if you check his other reviews, he posts a review of a rival oil company, just around the same time as the other review, and says he got deceived the past winter from the rival oil company. why would this consumer use 2 different oil companies in one season? i am currently a mitchell customer. not unhappy, but am feeling that their website is not transparent. i am looking for usage history for my home, and nowhere on my account profile or in my online account does it spell my usage out to me. frustrating.

This is by far the most unethical and unprofessional company I ever worked with. Get everything in writing because they do not keep their commitments, their customer service is extremely poor and the owners don't care.

My wife and I were encouraged ...

My wife and I were encouraged by our neighbors to go with Mitchell. And we're certainly glad we did. Had an emergency this holiday weekend with our system and the service guys at Mitchell were right there to mend the problem. Just in time for our family and friends to come over for Christmas Eve. Thank goodness for such quick responsetime or else this holiday could have been a disaster. Thanks a lot, Mitchell.

For as long as I can remember ...

For as long as I can remember Mitchell has been providing my family's oil and propane. We've moved homes a couple of times over the past 20 or so years, but no matter what we take Mitchell with us. Their service department always makes deliveries on time and if I ever have to call (which is rare) I'm always helped by someone who sounds like they genuinely love their job. You guys hired a great bunch of people. The past month or so I've been shopping around for prices just for curiosity's sake... but those other companies are not half as pleasant. They try to force information out of you before you even talk to a sales guy. And once you do they claim they have these great prices that no one can beat - all a bunch of crock to rope you in as a new customer. But Mitchell has treated me like a "new" customer ever since I signed up with them and that was years and years ago.

I can sleep soundly knowing I have my propane through Mitchell. Last weekend our pool heater went down and I called Mitchell late Friday afternoon and they had service guys out fixing our system in no time. Everything was back up and running just in time for our son's graduation barbeque the next day. The misses almost had a panic attack, but Mitchell's speedy service had everything taken care of and there was no need to worry. I told all of my guests at the barbq how great an experience we had and will certainly continue to do business with Mitchell for years to come.

It's so nice to deal with a co...

It's so nice to deal with a company where everyone from who ever picks up the phone to the final delivery guy is polite, responsive, and does what they say they will in a timely fashion. I've been getting my heating oil through Mitchell for around 6 years now, and they haven't disappointed me once. Always reccomend you guys to my neighbors.

Mitchell's service guys will bend over backwards for you. I use them for propane at my home, and for propane, oil, gasoline on a ton of my job sites. They accomodate my team no matter what we need, when we need it. Whenever it's something short notice that we're working on it's always nice to call the office and hear an actual person on the other end of the phone. When you're pressed for time nothing is worse than an automated voice message system - but with Mitchell you skip all that. They take care of you right away. And I am always happy to reccomend you guys to friends and business partners.

I can't say enough good things about Mitchell Oil. My husband and I have been dealing with them for over 15 years and season after seaon they never disappoint. At some points during this insane winter, their service guys were walking through snow up to their waists! But no matter what the weather they also go out of their way to please. Not only are the service guys always very pleasant, but any time I've ever had to call the office I'm always greeted right away by a friendly customer service person. Can't say enough good things about you Mitchell! Thanks for always being there over the years!

I HAVE BEEN WITH THIS COMPANY FOR 8 YEARS. AS WE ALL KNOW GAS AND OIL PRICES HAVE RISEN DRAMATICALLY IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. WE ALWAYS PAID OUR BILLS AND WHEN WE NEEDED A LITTLE EXTRA TIME PAYING OUR BILL, MITCHELL OIL WAS LESS THAN UNDERSTANDING. THE BILL WAS PAID IN FULL AND THEY MADE AN UNWANTED DELIVERY OF PROPANE AND BILLED FOR $29.35.THEY CONSTANTLY HOUNDED US FOR THE AMOUNT OF $29.35. THEY THREATENED REMOVAL OF THE PROPANE TANK UNLESS WE PAID THE AMOUNT DUE. WHEN I CONTACTED THE OFFICE MANAGER HE WAS QUITE SURLY AND ACTUALLY SHOWED NO INTEREST IN RESOLVING THE ISSUE TO MY TERMS-- I WANTED TO PAY IT WITH THE NEXT DELIVERY. THEY HAVE NOW PUT US ON A PREPAY LIST BEFORE WE CAN GET A DELIVERY. ALL HE HAD TO SAY WAS-"NO PROBLEM, AFTER YOUR NEXT DELIVERY WE'LL JUST PUT IT ALL TOGETHER AND YOU CAN PAY IT THEN..." --SINCE WE WERE ALL PAID UP BEFORE THIS.





BOTTOM LINE--THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT MITCHELL OIL ARE LESS THAN ACCEPTABLE--I HAVE BEEN IN THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BUSINESS FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS AND IF I HAD TALKED TO A CLIENT THIS WAY--I WOULD HAVE NOT ONLY BEEN REPRIMANDED, BUT FIRED. ALL I CAN SAY IS--MUST BE NICE.

Good or bad, we thank you for your feedback. This is a difficult complaint to address in a public forum because it involves a specific customer's credit history, which we will not discuss with anyone besides that customer. Generally, our company has a 60-year track record of working with every customer to help them budget their energy expenses to avoid service interruptions. Unlike most utilities and large service providers, our customers can call us or visit our office and actually talk to someone to let them know that their payment might be a little late this month or to inquire about breaking a large invoice into several smaller payments. Most of the time, through discussion and compromise, we can reach a resolution that both of us can live with. However, "discussion and compromise" must be a two-way street. In situations where a customer has a resolution in mind and is unwilling to consider other options, then there is a good chance that the customer will be left feeling unsatisfied with the resolution of the situation. Also, in situations where a customer has a history of non-payment or repeated late payment, we must at some point work towards persuading that customer to follow the payment terms that all of our other customers follow. I regret that in this situation our company and the customer were not able to reach a resolution that was mutually satisfying, but we hope for more favorable outcomes with this customer in the future.

I had a tiger loop installed on my heating sys. in 2002. I was told that this would be a one time payment of $100 + .They performed work on my sys.to resolve a problem that I incurred and stated to me this loop would also help my situation.

Low and behold, I had a leak from that area in the past few weeks. They sent a service man out to fix the problem. I guess he thought he did.He said one of the fittings was leaking. HE LEFT A 12" X 12" White oil absorbing pad under the tiger loop. Wouldn't you know the next day it was leaking again. I called and they sent another service man out.He said it was hard to fix the leak with out taking the whole thing off. He did remove the unit and replaced the pipe fittings,He also replaced THE TIGER LOOP.

Now Mitchell wants to charge me for a NEW TIGER LOOP.



1) I was told by a Mitchell employee that this TIGER LOOP would be a ONE TIME PAYMENT of approx. $100+ when they installed the device,Mitchell said they would never say that!! (now i'm a liar)

2) Why didn't the first svc.man tell me the loop was defective!!!He said he had to fix the fittings!!

With respect to the comments in this review, we understand that there are times when a disagreement may occur over a conversation between a customer and a technician. Our technicians replace dozens of parts every day (each with different warranty coverage), so it is certainly possible that in this situation the technician could have failed to explain the warranty coverage on that part clearly or that he could have said something like "this part should fix your problem." At the end of the day, we can't in good faith say any part or any piece of equipment will last forever (unless that part has a lifetime warranty). However, we can respond as quickly as possible to your problem, clearly communicate the issue to you, fix it and make sure that you are treated with respect every step of the way. I extend my sincere apologies to the customer who wrote this review and I invite them to contact me directly to discuss the details of this service issue so that we reach a resolution that they are more comfortable with.
