I had a temp agency employee from Sterling Apartments Personnel tell me for the past two months that I had to be certified as a leasing professional through the NALP before I could be placed to work, despite the fact that I have years of industry experience. This is a very basic course from what I could tell of the syllabus. Nonetheless, this guy Ernie told me I had to take the NALP. He was very specific. No takey no job. I tried to reach out the the manager a few times to no avail although Ernie promised he left her messages on my behalf. I researched what appeared to be more important and relevant courses through the Apartment Association of Greater Dallas and found some. I let Ernie know about these other courses, but Ernie was insistent that all agents are required to be certified through the NALP. Sigh. Stupid me, in order to expedite employment, I pay for the NALP to the tune of $400.00 to find it is like going to Kindergarten after one has received their high school diploma. It is worthless to me. Hello? If I am licensed, my license trumps this basic info. That is logical and I suggested that to Ernie but he said, no, you do need to be certified for this company. So, I finally get a hold of the manager who admits Ernie never gave her my messages and who finally tells me the NALP is not required. In fact, no one in the industry really relies upon it. However, she tells me I am lying when I complain because Ernie told her he never heard of the NALP and I made it all up. I mean, what type of people are employed today? What is a staffing company? At the least, all who work there should be up to speed on what the industry requires or does not require when they represent the industry. Therefore, if Ernie isn't lying (which he is) and knows nothing of the NALP, that's sort of a problem with regards to Ernie's level of knowledge. However, the fact that logically I did not make this up (waste two months of time and $400.00 - who does that??) is the lack of accountability for the employee this staffing company employs. Per the manager, I should know better than to trust an absolute stranger's advice (her employee). YIKES. I now have a hole in my pocket, I am back to square one and am also very leery about anything anyone tells me regardless of the company for which they work. I won't be taking on work through them now that I have complained. Sigh.

They don't pay!

Please don't trust this company, they don't pay there employees! They never have you houses right they say there going to pay one amount then when you get your check its a different amount. Then when you go in to ask why it's different they say you did a bad job, and tell you to leave or there going to call the cops. They look for ways to not pay you, lost your time card, never received it, wasn't singed, but if you say I'll go back and have them sign it or get it they say no its to late, you don't get the hours. Even trided talking to the manger Andy H. but she has the worst aditued of all of them. They all made me feel like a criminal for trying to get paid for the hours i worked.
