In my family's experience, this has to be the worst healthcare facility ever. It is no accident that it is now situated in a low income area. If there is a God, he needs condemn this place and replace it one that contains people that truly need to be trusted with taking care of others. Lets start with the obvious. The workers act as if they are being punished for something having to treat patients there. I regret ever taking my beloved family member to the E.R. there. She was very ill and a diabetic as well, yet they took over 5 hours to see her. It was not crowded. I worked in an E.R for over 20 years. There was no prioritization of patients. We had to leave and take her to another hospital She almost died that day. One fateful day. She was having a medical issue. I called the ambulance. I asked them to take her to St. Paul, Baylor any where except Charlton. The ambulance workers asked me no questions. They sent 2 trainees without permission. They just stuck oxygen over her face and said they we taking her to the nearest hospital, Charlton! My family member was in medical distress by now, yet the E.M.T's wasted valuable time demanding an insurance card! My family member was well insured and able to pay. But, they did not move or notify the E.R. Doctor ahead of what was going on with her at all. They just kept asking where is her insurance card!!! She needed that time they wasted. She need E.M.T.'s that knew exactly what to do in a situation like that. Mostly, she needed someone who cared about a minority. My loving family member needed someone who didn't feel like they were being punished because they work in an area where the majority of patients are minority. She died that day , waiting again, Charlton. To add insult to my pain, they sent in someone who was ill suited and whom I would not recommend to counsel family. It was the most horrifying encounter I could describe to you from beginning to end. What these people are running here is a morgue, not a hospital. The stories I am now told in the neighborhood. One close friend said that " I would not believe how many people die there and that he had seen so many bodies in the morgue." The place has long been called Deathidist in the neighborhood. All I can say is, try and arrange to go to a hospital that you have checked out well before an emergency. Do not allow anyone to tell you that you have to go there. If you have heart issues or are diabetic etc. talk to your trusted family member and Doctor about making sure instructions are to connect you with beforehand and to take you to a hospital that is recognized as a Stroke center. Make sure.

This is not a good hospital. After waiting for five hours in the emergency room. I had the experience with a mean nurse. The look on her face and demeanor look like she did not want to be bother with. I felt uncomfortable and not welcome there. I was very sick at that time and now Im reporting them. You don't have to talk to to someone to know that you are not important. This nurse non verbal communication was written all over her face. How sad she is a nurse in a profession that is suspose to take care of patients. Don't go to this hospital; besides that i believe they will let you die in the emergency room. What a waste!

Outpatient Services

I was a frequent patient to the outpatient services. The outpatient lab was close and easy to get in and out quick. How they have moved it across the building not even close to the outpatient srvices center. I had to ask numerous nurses, etc how to get there even with there "map". I tried to call the administrator Bonnie several times and left voice mails for her. She has never contacted me. What a way to run a hospital. All the people i met said they were tired of patients fussing about this move by the lab there....I guess thats why all my doctors at Charlton tell me to go to Methodist Dallas, Charlton is not up to standards even though it all "suppose to be new"....robert swanner 2143996025...This will be reported to Texas State Health Services...
