First, I love the reuse of old buildings to revive city centers. The Magnolia has done a fine job of turning an old office building into a hotel. I also love the happy hour and cookies and milk. The rooms aren't huge but definitely adequate and have lots of character. The bathrooms are well done and will appointed. My only complaints would be the slow elevators (which you can plan around) and the appearance of mold on many of the HVAC vents when I have stayed here. I know this is an old building so the HVAC system will have it's issues but seeing and knowing that there is mold in the HVAC system is just about enough to keep me away.

Great hotel - Love the free cocktails for happy hour at the hotel bar and cookies & milk every night. Plus, Starbucks is right next door -- makes it really easy for grabbing coffee first thing in the AM.
