Lavendou, a retreat into the French countryside - a place where life is savored as much as the food. Lavendou is thoroughly French, from the inviting decor to the gracious service and authentic cuisine. But don't expect it to be pretentious. Owner Pascal Cayet is dedicated to providing service that is friendly and efficient. And you will find Chef Francois Soyez's menu to be deliciously approachable. Serving the lighter fare of Southern France, Lavendou offers many items to tempt your taste buds.Lavendou, a retreat into the French countryside - a place where life is savored as much as the food. Approaching the restaurant you are wonderfully transported into the French countryside by the thoughtful design. Inside, the ambience is warm and inviting. We were met with a gracious smile and immediately led to our table. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. Throughout our meal he was attentive but not intrusive. We had smoked salmon, escargot, red fish, sole with crab, and a grand marnier soufflé. Each dish was superb. Classic escargot, but the soufflé stole the show! It was absolutely delicious. During our visit we noticed the owner checking every detail and interfacing with his patrons. This was an excellent dining experience that is highly recommended.

Terrible experience! The nicest thing that I can say about the food is that is was edible. And there really isn't anything nice to say about the service... The only bright spot of our evening is when the chef came over to the table to chat...

Very disappointing. Our group of 4 agreed...from the curt response when some of us called to confirm location to the surly waiter to the pedestrian food, it was not what we hoped for. The salad was listed as having parma ham and pine nuts, and I had neither of those on mine. Lamb chops for 2 and steak for another were acceptable, but the chops should not have come with pomme frites...just the steak. The demi-glace served with the steak was oddly just like the sauce served with the lamb.. a kitchen short-cut? And, the salmon wrapped in crispy crepe was unattractively presented with nary another item on the plate. Dessert were also acceptable...but the creme brulee should have had a brittle sugar-torched topping. All-in-all we agreed that we would not return and would not recommend this restaurant.
