I attempted to purchase one of their townhouses based on the fact that I had not heard or read too many negative testimonials and reviews. That, it turned out, could not have prepared me for the kind of unresponsive, illegal, arrogant and unprofessional customer service that I have received. I had decided to ignore the advices of many who had bought from Hawkins Welwood and had issues with leaky windows and roof problems. I was one of those people who leased one of his properties in North Dallas near the Keller Springs Dog Park. The property had many issues including: flooding issues in the garage, warm spots on the floor of the first floor. Hawkins Welwood refused to respond to my emails, at first, and then decided to keep half of the $5000 earnest money. This is illegal, and a very clear violation. Hawkins Welwood used to be a luxury builder, but it is not even close to this designation anymore. They are willing to break the laws in order to keep $2500 illegally.
