The director/owner (Wendy) only cares about the money and not working with children. She sits in her office all day and shouts at you when she wants to talk to you. The majority of the staff does not speak English and when you ask how your child did that day, all they do is smile and shake their head. The director does not believe in working with children, when they are trying to adjust to a new setting and makes the statement "We are not a right fit for your child." Who says that about a 2 year old?? Then suggest a Montessori setting for your child and states that they offer one-on-one instruction. The director also throws in your face of all the experience she has. If she has all of this experience then she would know a 2 year old's typical behavior and that Montessori has a smaller class ratios. First Step does not follow the Highscope curriculum correctly because they use worksheets. I was trained by region 10 on the Highscope curriculum and the use of worksheets is not age appropriate for kids under the age of 5.

Wendy and her staff treat your child like they one of their own. They remember them by name. They are very caring and loving. Since they are on the bottom floor of an old building there has been some issues with roaches, but the problem has seemed to improve. You get a strong wiff of dirty diapers when you walk in, but that is a smell that i'm sure is hard to maintain. You will not be disappointed with this facility.

Wendy and the staff are the most caring people I have ever met! She never hesitates to ask how I am doing and my daughter has never been happier. Would recommend this childcare facility to anyone!

Leaving your children is the hardest thing any parent has to do. But, leaving them at 1st Step Learning Centre I do not have to worry. Wendy and her staff make you and your children very comfortable and welcome. And, I know my baby is getting taken care of with love. I drive from north Frisco so my baby has the BEST child care. I highly recommend this Day Care
