My sister Carol owns Boyken Kennel. Because I live in Florida I've never seen how she manages her kennel until these past few weeks during the Thanksgiving holiday when I was there for a visit. The first thing I saw was how well she took care of so many dogs and how she was so diligent with keeping their kennels clean, washed them daily so the dogs had a happy place to eat, play and sleep. During feeding time she took special care with each dog to be sure they were all well feed, every afternoon she went out to the kennel and gave them a biscut treat.....they all loved it. Because she has three dogs who will be with her for an extended visit she took them out of their individual kennel, even though they also have their own individual outside kennel area to play in, and let them run and smell and have a good time stretching their legs in her large fenced in areas, and she does this free of charge. I saw her taking special time with the dogs who were scared to be away from home or had behavior type issues. She did behavioral therapy as a courtesy with no extra charge unless a customer requested her teaching/training classes. She advertises that she is closed on Thursday and Sunday, however this doesn't mean she takes the day off because she still took 100% care of her guests. Customers were always arriving to either bring or pick up their dogs, and because she is very flexible she always stayed home to accomodate their schedules whether it was her closed days or not. I saw how her customers love her, almost everyone gave her hugs and some brought her holiday gifts, and the generous tips she was given was proof to me how they all were appreciative of the excellent and loving care she gave to what she calls, "their babies".

What a home away from home that Carol provides for our two dogs! Great care and attention, the freedom to run around by themselves in a safe but ecologically-rich environment and climate controlled facilities...all at a very reasonable price. Simply cannot ask for more when entrusting your dogs (babies) to another's care. We've been leaving our two dogs on various occasions at Boykin Kennels since this past summer, and we sure do have peace of mind knowing that both of them are well cared for and truly have a blast being there with all of the outside exercise they get! We are more than willing to make the drive from Richardson whenever we need to go out of town.

Boykin Kennel is a great place to board your dogs. I have been taking my dogs there since 1989. They go out of their way to make sure your dog is comfortable. Carol is very carring w/the dogs and can give training tips also!

This is home away from home for our dogs. Carol takes excellent care of our two dogs. They are fed an excellent quality food and are given a treat in the afternoon. She educates us so that we are better dog owners. This is the only place in Dallas that you should take your dogs.

I have used Carol at Boykin Kennel for over 15 years., I have moved out of the area, but still drive the extra miles when I go out of town. The peace of mind is worth the extra miles I drive. Carol treats all the anamils as her own. If you want a safe place with loving care for you pet and peace of mind, then Boykin Kennel is the place to leave your (extended family member) pet.

Boykin Kennel is the best! I have been taking my 2 dogs (my babies) there for several years and could not be happier. They are well taken care of and enjoy their time there. Carol has become their second mom!

This kennel is wonderful. I have been a client for several years and now consider Carol family. She treats my dogs as if they are her own. She notices if something is wrong with them. This tells me that she checks on them and that she cares. She also spoils them rotten--I don't think they want to come home!! I will not take them to any other kennel--Boykin is the best!!

Boykin Kennel is the best kennel. We have used them for over 20 years. We would not take our animals anywhere else.



Carol treats the dogs, cats just like they were her own. She outdoor and indoor runs. She gives each of the dogs a treat every afternoon.



She is the best. Her prices are good, location is like walking in the country. Give her a call.

miss carol and her establishment and personel were professional and tended to the needs of myself and my pet with great care and respect i have a chow named einstein which she boarded for two weeks and trained him in basic handeling like sit stay and walk on a leash i was amazed at his progress in such short time of training. i recommend her at the highest level to all . einstein and i both say thank you miss carol and boykin kennel . robert

Boykin Kennels has been my groomer of choice for around 20 years. The people are friendly and knowledgable, and their facility is clean and well kept. Though I've never used it, they offer a nice service for older folks in their area. They will pick up and return your dog for you within a certain radius from their location. They love your pet as much as you do and will work with you on keeping them healthy. Give 'em a try!
