Beyond Broadband Solutions tried to install a cable without contacting Atmos Energy and having Atmos mark the gas lines. Beyond Broadband Solutions ended up hitting a gas pipe and put a crack in the line resulting in them calling Atmos Energy instead of 911 first.

Beyond Broadband Solutions could have caused an explosion because "they didn't think they needed to have Atmos Energy mark the lines" - according to the Atmos Energy supervisor.

The local fire department came out after Atmos Energy called 911, then Atmos spent 2 hours repairing the line. As a result, Beyond Broadband Solutions was banned from doing any future installations in the City of Richardson, TX.

If you find a contractor digging a line where gas pipes may be present, tell them to stop, then call 811 and report them for illegal digging. Any place where gas pipes might be located, must be inspected and flagged by your local gas company before any digging can begin.
