Provided by YP.comI had the same logic as the Catherine P. My fiancé and many of her family members were signing up a consultants with the promise that they could earn a substantial residual income (1st mistake).
I decided to sign up with Ambit to help my fiancé out on a variable rate (2nd mistake) since I wasnt anticipating staying at my residence for a year or longer. I was saving approx. $2-3 dollars for the first few months. Then once winter hit, they took me to the cleaners (ripped me off big time). Our local utility clearly states on the bill what I would have paid if I had received my supply from them. AMBIT WAS CHARGING ME DOUBLE AND EVEN MORE than my local utility. I called customer service and after 20 minutes of being on hold they give me the option for a call back. Once I enter the prompt, the auto attendant hangs up on me. I called back immediately and was on hold for 50 minutes before I was able to speak to a rep.
Ambit's rep. tried to convince me to sign up for a variable "guaranteed" savings but would not match my utilities rate or credit me the outrageous difference between what I would have paid if I just stayed with my utility. My $350-450 normal bill went up to $900-1000 with Ambit.
Shameful. Should be illegal.
