The car was pretty good and the service was decent but the car was very expensive for 3 days. I booked the car over 2 months in advance and paid them $300 at that time. I put on reservation that I wanted the insurance. Better safe than sorry...I paid online at that time and when I picked up the car they charged another $250 for insurance. So I paid $550 for a rental car for 3 days. Will be looking around more next time I rent...

Have used Alamo for years. This past experience was not my best experience. I flew in on a standby Airline Friends and Family pass. When picking up the car, I gave them my Credit/Debit card. They advised they needed a return itinerary to rent the car. I did not have one, since Standby is not a "Reservation"- hence the word "Standby". They refused to rent the car without it. Had to contact my friend at work with the airlines to make a mock reservation to show agent. He did. They refused to take a text photo of the reservation, Had to contact my husband to email the agent with the mock reservation. She received the reservation, quickly went through procedure for rental and then ripped the emailed reservation up. Took over 30 minutes for that document...Very disappointed in the professionalism and policies. Visa Card had been used before in rentals. Alamo has a policy that you cannot use Debit card without return itinerary. What do people like me do when in this situation? Asked if they could run the Visa as a Credit Card (since it has dual uses per Bank of America). Nope. Will be using other transportation rentals in the future.

Perfect experience with Alamo. Just be prepared to have a very large deposit held to your bank account while the car is in your possession. We were not aware that a substantial deposit would be held. Resulted in some minor financial matters... Other than that, will be doing business again with them.
