Dollar General,

On the evening of March 14, I attempted to return some merchandise for a refund as I felt it was exorbitantly priced. This was done at 1955 Harbins Road Dacula, GA store. I presented my valid receipt at the counter, the items I wanted to return and requested a refund.

At what I thought was the apparent end of the refund process the cashier demanded my full name, full address, complete phone number and my valid driver’s license to complete the refund process.

I said I was not aware of anyone who required that much personal information for a ‘simple’ refund with a valid receipt.

I stated several times I did NOT want all my personal information in their corporate data base. I have a valid receipt.

I was told the information was required by DOLLAR GENERAL Corporation.

After I refused to disclose the demanded personal information, Melissa became mad and told me, several different times to immediately get out of the store.

Why am I required, especially when not previously and openly disclosed, that I must provide complete personal information to a National Corporation for a ~$15 refund yet I have a valid receipt?
