I ate here yesterday, and last week, etc. Mommie Jo's is the kind of place you can go when you want friendship and really good food. The owner will greet you and if you don't know her, you will before you leave. They are friendly and make you feel like you are eating in your Mom's kitchen. I eat here a lot. Mommie Jo's husband has the award in my book for his boiled seafood. I have yet to eat better crawfish in all of my 58 years. This is the best. The gumbo is wonderful and they always have the best lunch specials. I have never been disappointed with any thing here. It is located on the bayou side between the little Cut Off bridge and the South Lafourche bridge, on Hwy 1. Go!! It's that good!! And for dessert, the cake and bouillee (homemade custard) is like nothing you ever ate.
