I went in with my friend on Saturday 2-5-2011 to Dr. Slater’s office at Vallco to get her new contact lens. She brought her prescriptions in and wanted to buy one box for each eye. Dr. Slater’s office at the Prune Yard was the ones who did her eye exam. Doctor Slater's office does not carry her eye insurance since she switched companies. So she just wanted one box for each till her eye insurance would kick in, which was supposed to be the following week. She had worn her contacts a little longer then she should have. Dr. Slater walked in and took her prescription into the back and said he would check to see if he had the contact lens in stock. A few minutes later he walked out told her he had the contacts in stock, but would not sell them to her, because she was screwing up her eyes. Duh, that’s why she went in there to buy new contacts!!! And then he left and walked into the back room. Dr. Slater may very well be a good eye doctor, but he should not treat patients like that. This was very unprofessional. We would never recommend him to anyone because of this one incidence! In addition, if you compare prices he tends to be on the high side.
