Buyer Beware!

I normally don't write reviews, but I feel as though as a consumer, it is my job to warn people about this place. I bought a propane heater and two propane tanks from Depault Hardware. I called the store to ask if I could return the heater and tanks and the person on the phone told me that it should not be a problem. When I went to return the heater and tanks (I had my receipt with me).The manager (older man around his late sixties) said that he would check with the owners of the store, which I appreciated. He called the owners and they said that they would NOT take the propane tanks back, but that they would take the heater back. I told the manager that I wished someone had told me that the propane tanks were not returnable before I bought them. The manager then said, "Did you ask if they were returnable when you bought them? It is not our job to tell you that they are not returnable." Wow, that is really poor customer service and just bad business! I would not recommend buying anything from this store because they clearly don't care about being honest with their customers about their polices. I won't be shopping here again and I will be telling my friends and family about my negative experience here. This is unfortunate because I do like supporting local businesses. At least at places like Home Depot, they are honest with you about their polices.

I was extremely disappointed in my experience with Depault Hardware. I was looking for a specific product and they popped up in my search so I called and asked the gentleman who answered if they carried it. He immediately said that they did, I should've asked him to put it aside or physically check I guess, so I then confirmed his store's location and had my husband, who was already out, go pick it up. He got there just as they were closing an the employees very kindly let him in. When he relayed what he was looking for he was told they don't carry the product. When he mentioned that I had called (I confirmed the address and have since double-checked the phone number and it matches the one to this store) he was met with blank stares by all the employees who had gathered together as the store was closing. I am seriously disappointed by the lack of integrity shown in whichever employee made a mistake, due to laziness. I gave one star because this was the action of just one obviously inept employee and feel like there must be some people in the store who care since they did let my husband in after just locking their doors.
