The staff at Family Dog Center are dog lovers and that shows. We've taken obedience and agility classes and my dog is more confident and calmer around other dogs. I appreciated the opportunity to try different collars, harnesses, etc. before purchasing them. I much prefer the positive reinforcement training Family Dog Center uses -- it creates a very strong bond between dog and owner.

The Algonquin-LITH Food Pantry has benefited greatly for the weekly dog food donations that have assisted our families in need. The donations are so well received as our clients are facing difficult budget issues. We greatly appreciate the weekly contributions that allow us to continue to serve families in need with their pet needs.

Congratulations Family Dog Center on your five year aniversary. I have been going to FDC for four years now and they are always helpful. They have helped with our badly abused adopted dog and also with the shelter dogs I work with. They give back to the community with their Food for Shelter Program. Thanks again.

I love the Family Dog Center because they are really friendly to dogs, people and kids. I’m 12 and I can be in the ring with my mom and our dog. This way my dog will listen to me too. The Family Dog Center is a good place to take your dog, they offer all different classes. The basic obedience is a good class to go to if your dog doesn’t want to listen. We receive helpful hints on how to keep training our dog at home. I am having lots of fun training my dog and look forward to class every week.

I highly recommend The Family Dog Center. Their staff is professional, experienced, friendly, helpful and patient with the dogs and their owners. The Family Dog Center is family friendly and will work with members of your family to help everyone succeed. We are encouraged to call if we have any problems or questions that come up during the week. It is nice to know that I will have help during the week and not just on class day. The owner has professional and personal experience with herding dogs. This was extremely important to me as we have a Border Collie puppy. I am receiving the specific breed help that I need for my families needs. The Family Dog Center offers high quality, healthy products for your dogs. I purchased a car harness for my puppy and not only received help in picking out the size but the staff also adjusted the product to fit my dog. I rescued a gentle and loving abused dog who was terrified of everything. This poor thing lived in constant fear of everyone and everything, and as a result was very defensive and protective. It was not a mean dog - it was just a dog tired of being pain and suffering. I brought her to Family Dog Center to help socialize her with other dogs and people and to not be afraid. The warm, positive and compassionate love which these ladies gave to my dog was incredible. My dog is still cautious, but she is a whole new dog. When she comes to Family Dog Center, she is happy and at peace - she knows she is home and with a family who will treat her right. They say that their goal is for their clients to have a 'warm, loving, friendly and well-behaved family pet' and with their wonderful training and compassion, they have given this to me. I can never thank the staff at Family Dog Center enough for the helping my best friend.

I don't think the staff is equipped to handle any behavior or any breed outside the norm. The facilities are hot. The noise level is insane. Trainers wear microphones, but it's still impossible to hear. As a result of their puppy beginner course, my dog actually picked up quite a few bad behaviors. They're were so focused on passing the AKC puppy good citizenship test, they never bothered to address individual bad behaviors. This was just a horrible experience for us. We've since moved on to more qualified trainers and the difference is amazing. This place really is amateur hour.

I have been taking my dog here since he was a puppy.. the staff are trained and their knowledge on training is excellent. They are patient with the animal and want them to succeed. They offer many levels of training for which you can choose from. My dog loves it there and I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for some additional help and guidance in the the process of either your dog of many years or the training of a new puppy. Their Doggy Day Care is Excellent my dog goes and can not wait to begin the day with them they work on all aspects of sit, stay,down, playtime, heel, recall and walktime. It is well worth every Penny. The cost I may add is minimal for all of the work that they provide. Nancy "the owner" is an exceptional person along with all of her staff and Nancy has worked with me personally when I had issues arise and unable to bring my dog to class. I can tell you from experience that I would "Never" take my dog anywhere Else !!EVER!!!!

This is absolutely the greatest training facility and staff I have ever seen. The facilities are immaculate.The love and care given to our dogs, their use of Posititve Reinforcement training and no-choke training collars produced results far better than I ever expected. I have trained at other facility's which use the cruel 'pop' method. At Family Dog Center, the staff was gentle, kind and loving and my dog has improved 1,000 percent. Thank you so much for all of your help.
