They have been very thorough and compassionate with our kittens and with two generations of cats and dogs for Crossville Mission.

I have been a patient of this clinic since it opened in the 80's.The reviews with poor ratings from Carrie M,Amber T,Sara S,& Savannah T are totally ridiculous.Im certain that there is more to each story than what was told, there always is.I have taken many, many of my pets there and have never had any issues.I am not a relative either, so no family bias.In addition to small animals they have cared for my horses & cattle as well.Perhaps these poor reviews are due to ignorance or youth wilth a poor grasp of medicine/business.Dr Thompson & Dr Bussey are excellent vets.If you all need your hand held, try a Knoxville or other metropolitan practice. You surely won't be pleased there either. Ask a medical doctor if you can be seen with an outstanding bill-nope.Once a dog is surgically opened for a spay that's what takes place. They didn't murder the puppies. The purpose of shelter adoption with spay/neuter is to try limiting the number of neglected/ abandoned dogs & cats, not produce another litter. I can assure you that having to deal with almost term puppies is not pleasant for the vets &/or for their staff.Put the blame on the dog's previous owner for being irresponsible, not the professionals for doing their jobs.Re: pain medicine, most dogs have enough sense to remain relatively calm/quiet if they experience pain.Sometimes the "pain meds" instill a false sense of "wellness" causing the dog to become overly active and actually causing themselves increased pain/injury.

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER!!! This place is dangerous and RUDE!!! Worth the drive and extra money to go elsewhere- if you love your pets, please do not use this "veterinary"...at least that's what they claim to be- SCARY- both my dog Cleo and horse Terra lost their lives due to their neglect!

I was unable to reach my regular vet so I contacted them after my dog was attacked by a coyote and needed fast medical attention. I paid in full for everything and it was more than most people make in a regular work week. Since no complications I took my dog to our regular vet for staple/stitch, and drain tube removal. The vet at Upper Cumberland called me to tell me how hateful I was to not let her continue the care for my animal and insulted my vet. She was so very rude and the way she did the stitches, my dog now has a large piece of skin that sticks out an over an inch away from her body and in order to have it smoothed back out we will have to have an additional surgery. And they had the dosage wrong on her paid meds and had i not had them double check it i would have given my 8 pound dog double what she would have needed. Completely unsatisfied and will never take any of my animals there again.

I adopted a dog from the local animal shelter and in the adoption fee was a spay/neuter so my father and I scheduled the spay/neuter for January 2. My father took her for her spay (her name is Ila) and AFTER they had already performed the surgery they called him to inform him that she was not only pregnant but was almost full term! They KILLED a litter of puppies AND put my dog's life in danger instead of picking up the phone and calling us to let us make a decision. They claim it was their "protocol" and that the shelter wouldn't pay for diagnostic tests, but if they had called US the OWNERS of the dog we would NEVER have gone through with the spay. It could have waited a few months especially since there wasn't a chance she could get pregnant again at our home. On top of MURDERING our puppies they then proceeded to charge us for a rabies shot and worm medicine! But not any pain medicine for Ila. I will NEVER take any animal back there and I am going to spread the word about their IMMORAL and MURDEROUS protocol!
