This is a really great dental practice in Cranston ri the staff welcomes new patients everyone

I went to Dr. Bender because his office is right next to me and they said they could take me in right away because I had an emergency. Over the phone they said they took my insurance. I have 2 dental insurances. My tooth was so bad that it had to be pulled. I never had any teeth pulled (not counting my wisdom teeth). They were very fast with the X-rays and exam. Also, the atmosphere is awesome. They give you a remote to change the television stations while you are in the exam chair Awesome! However, when the time came for my tooth to be pulled, they informed me that I had to pay over $230 because my insurance would not cover that. I had no choice but to call my husband while he was working to get the credit card number. After an exam and x-rays and in pain, what was I going to do... walk out and go somewhere else? Once I gave them the credit card number, you betcha.... they went and charged it before the procedure took place. I know that I was not a regular patient and also HAVE NOT BECOME ONE either but talk about Show Me the Money!! Also, the women that work there were RUDE!! Dr. was fine but would it had killed the staff to have some manners, courtesy, or even smile? They should have told me before I went through all that that they only took one of my dental insurances and knowing what I explained on the phone and in person and ON THE FORM, they could have looked up to see if a tooth pull was covered! I was embarrassed enough that I did not have my check book nor cash and had to call my husband for his credit card. No thank you. Doctors work for us, we shouldn't have to feel extremely grateful or feel like we have to beg for some bed side manners or what about a prescription for the pain or even a toothbrush (kidding about that). Ask before you go!! My family works hard for our insurance and we just get by. This was avoidable.
