The Grille is in a historic building originally built in 1923 as the Rialto Theater. It was the longest running single-screen theater in the United States until December 1998, when it was lost to fire. Reopened in December of 2005 as The Tavern Grille, guests will see the charred concrete walls that frame the dining room today. The building next door, built in 1925 as a grocery store, was converted into the upscale Tavern Hotel in 2011 and guests enjoy welcome cocktails at the Tavern Grille Bar. Upstairs from the Grille is a luxury penthouse that is part of the Tavern Hotel experience. The Grille is in a historic building originally built in 1923 as the Rialto Theater. My husband and I were on route to Sedona for our anniversary weekend and wanted to try somewhere new to eat. The restaurant was busy with people waiting outside and in, to be seated. We took this as a good sign and the wait was only 15 minutes. The onion soup we had was delicious. The meatloaf very tasty ( would have liked a few veggies with the meat and potato) and the service attentive. We shared a Creme Brulee for dessert and were both awed by the incredible taste and texture. This was the best either of us has had anywhere! The manager was interested in his clientele and wanted to be sure we were satisfied with our meals. We have been telling our friends to check this place out next time they are in the area and seeing as we just moved here from Canada, we know we will have the opportunity to go back to the Tavern Grille for tasty satisfying food.R & D
