This company misrepresented themselves....I will only go to Shamrock from now on! Please read all of this so you don t go through what we did!!! I called first and asked if they had red hemlock bark dust. They said yes so my husband drove out of his way to get a couple of yards for our landscaping. They loaded one yard and my husband saw that it was a black hemlock bark dust and almost compost like so he stopped the loader from loading the second yard and actually helped the loader shovel the bard dust out of our truck. The red hemlock section was totally empty he noticed but they said that they had it when I called. So after my husband helped shovel the bark dust out of the truck, he went into the office to talk to the person working at the counter about it and asked for a refund. My husband said to him that they told his wife they had the red in stock when they really didn t, and asked for a refund. The worker then told my husband to leave or he d call the police and he didn t want to refund him! My husband told the man that he wasn t leaving without a refund. The worker finally refunded him but it took about three tries before he got it right. There was no reason for the worker to threaten to call the police. The worker actually told my husband that he was having a bad day but really? He wanted to call the police because my husband was given the wrong product and asked for a refund???? Who does that?? This company I guess! After talking to my husband on the phone after he left the business, I called to make sure they double checked the credit to make sure it was done right and tried to ask why I was told they had the red hemlock when they didn t.....he tried back tracking and arguing with me. Really??? At that point I also told him that I couldn t believe that he would actually threatened to call the police when my husband told him it was the wrong stuff and wanted a refund.....at that point he HUNG UP ON ME!!! I tried to call back but he would not answer. Worst business ever!!! We ve owned a small local contracting business for 14 years now and have always preferred to use other small local businesses. We will never go back to this business and we will never refer our customers to this business. We will be contacting their main office on Monday to file a formal complaint. If you need bark dust or soils or rock...go to Shamrock...better product...better service.....always with a smile. They ve always been upfront about their products. If something isn t up to the quality we want, they will tell us and let us know when a new or better batch comes in. Shamrock 541-752-5825.

The Bark Place is fine for bark dust, but their planting mix isn't very good. I got some that quickly turned into cement in my raised beds.
