What started off as a very good experience quickly turned into one that completely turned me off to Kost.



When my muffler went on my car, I started going around town getting estimates for the service to be done. Originally, I showed my other estimate to Kost, and they beat the price by $50. I told the associate who gave me the quote that I would have to think about it and I would get back to him at a later time. He then proceeded to get my car out of the shop and met me with the keys outside. We continued to talk about the problem and he recommended a few different ways it could be fixed, saving me money. I was quite pleased and really appreciated being given a variety of information.



Just as I was leaving, he told me he would beat the competitors cost by $100. He really had my attention at that point. He also added, if I signed up for the Kost credit card, I could save an additional 10%, saving me $150 off of the original quote I got from a competitor. I told him I would still think about it, but I was definitely interested.



A few days later, I returned to the shop to order the part. The associate I dealt with was not there, so I told another worker there, apparently "the boss", what the other associate had quoted me. He informed me that there was no way that that work was happening at that price, he's the boss, and that was his final decision. Even after explaining to him the situation, he still refused to do the work for the estimated price and that his associate had no place giving out quotes (after he was overseeing him do the first one). I was supposed to receive a follow up call today, and that never happened. It was terrible customer service, just terrible.



As a woman, I already get stress and anxiety going to the mechanics. I thought I finally found a place where I could have a stress-free experience. Instead, I got talked down to, by the manager of all people. I definitely would not recommend going here, I know I will never be doing business here, at least at this particular location.
