Provided by YP.comIt sounds to me that weapon11's priority is not to defend Nicole but to Hate on The Keg Room Owner Karen and to drum up business for the Bairz Den. First of all I remember Nicole working at the Keg Room and she was not a bad bartender. She was a little out of her element I would say. As for the owner Karen I can say she has waited on me numerous times and has always been polite and most importantly humorous. The Keg has been a great bar for me. Friendly regulars who like to chat it up and have a good time are found there all hours. Newcomers to the bar are always welcomed and for the most part like it so well they return. As for the Bairz Den I can say I will not be returning. There clientele is largely made up of people banned from neighboring bars and crackheads waiting for a sucker to come in and buy them a drink. If you do stop in take some mace and hold on to your wallet. The bartenders are far more better at scamming money out of you than the other patrons.
As for weapon11 aka Nicoles buddy, you should lighten up and find more productive things to do rather than stir up crap. You represent yourself as a blogger doing the community good but as far as I can tell you are only blogging about your obsessive hatred for a bar. That's worth a visit to your local mental health professional if you ask me. Cheers
Thank you, Karen

Provided by YP.comYou folks belong together. In your own little world where you can kiss Karen's rear in the hopes of a free drink or a lingering look. I had hoped that the crazy little woman would learn a lesson about people and how to treat them, but she did not. No matter. Time will show that she is inept at doing anything other than ruining a person's day. An unexpected result of all of this is the ignorant sheep at that bar and how they put the blame on Nicole. I know her, she's quite nice. But alas, you pointed the finger at the wrong person. But I won't bother you with the details of Weapon 11's true identity. The regulars of that fly strip have no lives and thrive on the drama and I'm quite sure believe that they have it all figured out. The right people know the right person responsible. He's someone who isn't quite done with letting Corpus know just where to avoid when they want a nice time at a bar. Until then....

Provided by YP.comI cannot help but notice how quick you are to dish out criticism while hiding behind your childish wall of anonymity. That speaks volumes of your character. I have one question for you. Who owns the place and who is looking for a job? Case closed. Enjoy the Bairz Den. It deserves you.

Provided by YP.comI have been a regular there for the better part of six months, and I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere. For the most part. It's a small hole in the wall; which I prefer. It's quiet for the most part. The clientele is mostly an older crowd, which leads to a pretty nice time free from the drunken nonsense that frequents some other watering holes. The bartenders, Nicole and Melissa, are friendly and can make any drink under the sun. All this being said, one would think "The Keg" would be a top pick for best bar in Corpus. Alas, that's not so. The owner stinks up the air of companionship and relaxation with her incessant bad attitude. Rude, insulting, and downright incompetent, I have chosen not to even enter the establishment when she is working, which is most days during the afternoon shift. For starters, she is a horrible manager. She treats her employees more like slaves than fellow bartenders. One of the drink slingers is currently being forced out of her position, even though she is well liked by all the customers and is one of the best bartenders I have ever seen. I assume this is because she has the unfortunate condition of having an opinion, something the "Shrew" frowns upon when dealing not only with her staff, but the customers. I personally heard the alleged bipolar owner say this to a customer:
"Have you ever tried this drink? It's really good. But I only have enough ingredients to make one, and I'm not going to waste it on you." This was not said in jest. She was quite serious. And this was to a loyal patron who was quite offended. But this is the norm from the neurotic mess who holds the key to the tavern. She will be nice and hospitable as long as you sit there, drink your drink, don't say a word and don't ever have a conflicting opinion. She and another regular got together recently to sponsor three teams for the Beach To Bay Marathon. You would think this would have been a generous, selfless act on her part. Again, she ruined the whole affair. Too lazy to work herself, she forced one of the bartenders to work Friday night, run the race Saturday morning, and then work Saturday night. Naturally, the young woman did as she was told because that's the kind of employee she is. But the abuse didn't stop there. At the after-race gathering at the bar, the owner actually said this. "So and so was there at the race and didn't see any of you. You didn't actually run, did you. Where was the damned party at?" She was quite serious. In short, The Keg Room would be the perfect place to sit and have a few and unwind from the long day, if it weren't for the owner. Maybe in one of her crazy episodes one of these days she will make another rash decision and sell the place to someone more experienced in dealing with people. One can only hope.

This isn't hard to figure out. This review is written by Nicole herself. See, Nicole has a problem following directions, operating proceedures and rules laid down by her employer. Her bartending shift was cut back drastically because of this. So rather than doing her work according to the rules that apply to all employees, she has to blame her employer for such unfair treatment towards her. I copied her review and took it to the Keg Room to share with all my wonderful patrons. Needless to say we had several hours of comical humor. Thank you nicole. I have had the Keg Room for 15 years and have aquired a wonderful group of good friends and customers. We have loyal regulars and some real characters that makes our bar kind of unique. We provide freindly service to many types of workforce such as Judges, Doctors, Lawyers, Contractors, Painters, Retailers, Lawn service people, and so on, all the way to even the good ole unempolyed. We all have a good time together. There is no click or clan, just good people. So if you do decide to come by and give us a try, I promise you, you won't be waited on by a bartender like nicole. You can sit back, relax, have a good drink and join in on good conversation without the Drama. My name is Karen Dumas and I, along with my wonderful co-workers would like to meet you. Cheers.

Provided by SuperpagesA quiet, neighborhood kind of place. Come sit at the bar, or shoot a game of pool. Be nice to your bartender, because she's the kind of girl that is going to remember you the next time you come in!
