Barlow Insurance Brokerage was founded in 1971 by George Barlow Sr. George loved to go to car shows with his sons George Jr. and Jonathan. He spent a lot of time at these events over the years. Since he was already in the insurance field, he found himself in conversations with collector car owners about the lack of insurance suited for classic cars. Eventually, George began offering classic car insurance coverage, through his own business.Jonathan, George's youngest son, joined his dad at car shows from about the age of ten. He followed in his father's and older brother's footsteps in his love of classic automobiles. Over the years, Jonathan has owned and restored several cars himself. The photo above shows Jonathan and his dad on a Classic Thunderbird outing, around the late '80s, with their 1957 Thunderbird. The car is sill in the family, many of you understand!In the 1980s, Jonathan began learning the collector car business from his father. He began working with his father in 1982, and became licensed in 1989. In 1992, after a few years of failing health, ( George loved golf and shot an honest 89 at his beloved Yorba Linda Country Club one week before he passed away, not bad for a 75 year old man with a failing heart! ) George passed on. After George's passing Jonathan continued the family business.Today, you can still find Jonathan at car shows and events, having fun and working to help those who share his passion for classic vehicles.
