Greetings to all who find this,
Do yourself a favor, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS!!!
I have a leaking refrigerator, purchased from Home Depot. So the malfunctioning ice maker dripped down the front of the refrigerator causing surface damage to the left french door and water/ice chute. Cal-Tex came out, assessed the problem and "fixed it". A week later it started pouring water again, "Not Fixed." The young man that came out was the same to respond to the second service call. It was then that he agreed the door was damaged and needed to be replaced. Following so far?
- defective ice maker unit
- caused damage to my refrigerator door
So it's come to this, the door was denied. According to Home Depot, it wasn't added as additional damage. Cal-Tex just asked for one, called it replacement due to some kind of damage, that isn't covered anyway. Unbelievable! So I've wasted hours of my time explaining the situation to Home Depot. Finally it has been accepted as covered.
Summation- Cal-Tex has some MAJOR ISSUES!!!
1. You HAVE to do a better job ordering parts for your customers.
2. Who ever the lady is in your office that answers the phone.... Oh My God! You seriously need to find someone else to deal with your customers. And I am not the only one... Read your reviews... She is pretty bad on many fronts.
3. I really liked your tech (the young man that came out to my house). And I found him very knowledgeable. The problem is at your front end and delivery of the product. I'm going to assume that she probably orders your parts too. It would make sense, weakest link and all.
Anyway, moving on...

I called and placed a claim with my warranty company on Monday, August 22. I was put in contact with them. A repair man came on 8/24 who listened to my claim, checked to see that the drum would rotate by hand and stated the heating elements "go out all the time and I have to order one," it would take a week. He did not take it apart or do any other checks. I receive a call to schedule the repair today, 8/31. The repair man arrives today, takes the dryer apart say it needs a new belt and pulley, and has to order more parts. We are now on week 2 without a dryer. I contacted the company; receptionist refused to allow me to talk with a supervisor. She stated she would return my call in 1/2 hour. She returned my call in as promised and scheduled the repair for tomorrow afternoon. Still have to take more time off and they can't provide an arrival window smaller than 5 hours. We are now on week 2 without a dryer. This is unacceptable.

My husband and I had an outdoor kitchen built. Within a year, the refrigerator door sensor was consistently beeping although the door was shut properly. Caltex was sent by the manufacturer (Marvel) to repair the fridge. After numerous attempts to schedule a service call, the appointment was made and a technician made the repair. The refrigerator was malfunctioning again by the end of the day. When I contacted them, they suggested the rubber seal on the door was dirty and refused to come back. I went back through the installer and Marvel again had Caltex contact us to make the repair. Again, their scheduler did a very poor job. When we finally agreed to a date and time, they didn't arrive. I called to complain and the manager refused to let me speak with the owner, refused to give me her name, and then hung up on me and would not answer when I called back. I wonder if the owner(s) are aware of what their employees are doing to the business' reputation.

Horrible, horrible customer service! I had a terrible experience with them after having to use them for warranty repair! Very rude and unwilling to work with schedules, not to mention having to wait 3 weeks to get a part! Would def not recommend and looks like others had the same experience!

I to had a horrible experience with Cal Tex. They were recommended by the extended service warranty company. Pretty much the same as John and Jason.and Karen. Their policy seems to be "The Customer is Always Wrong." They made a mistake on the date of service, were incapable of admitting it, but rather seemed to make up for it with more rudeness and a total unwillingness to be helpful. Talking to them, including the manager, is very much like talking to a wall. Good luck trying to work things out with these people if anything ever goes wrong. I do not recommend them at all.

My experience with them is similar to other reviews. They are the Frigidaire service agent in the area. A contractor came on a Monday to pick up my dishwasher and repair it. He told me it would most likely be ready the next day. That was seventeen days ago, and I still do not have my dishwasher back. Their customer service is awful, as well. The receptionists are rude, the service is horrible. I'm going to go there tomorrow and ask for my dishwasher back, so I can take it elsewhere for service. I would rather pay money to another business than have Cal-Tex for free.

HORRIBLE Experience with Cal Tex

My experience with Cal Tex has been extremely time consuming and the customer service has been horrible. Our Samsung dishwasher began experiencing problems in January 2014. We were referred to Cal Tex through our extended warranty program. The experience is as follows:

January 31, 2014 – Dishwasher was not dispensing soap. Cal Tex responded and identified a ‘part’ that was needed to fix the issue.

February 8, 2014 – Cal Tex installs this part which is supposed to fix the problem

August 7, 2014 – Dishwasher is not draining properly, MC8 code.

September 4, 2014- Cal Tex responds (~1 month later) and installs a float sensor and main PCB board

September 22, 2014 – Dishwasher was not working properly (not washing or drying)

September 29, 2014 – Cal Tex orders a ‘soap dispenser’

October 13, 2014 – Cal Tex installs the ‘soap dispenser’. Cal Tex informs us that the soap we were currently using (Cascade) does not work well with newer models of dishwashers and to try the soap packets.

October 20, 2014 – The dishwasher was not drying and the soap dispenser would open, but the soap packet would still be sitting in the dispenser, unused.

October 27, 2014 – Cal Tex responds by commenting that “cups that are flipped over retain water” and “plastic does not dry well. The repairman did not address the issue of the soap dispenser.

When I called on Oct 27 to speak with a customer service specialist, I was told that they would get in touch with the repair technician and I would receive a call ‘right back’. One hour later, I decided to call back. I spoke with another customer service specialist who informed me that she would call the repair technician and would call me back. Approximately one hour and thirty minutes later, I call back and speak with the Office Manager. The Office Manager would not take responsibility for Cal Texs’ inability to fix the issue with the dishwasher and instead stated that the Field Service Manager (FSM) would better understand my issues. After arguing that Cal Tex has attempted to fix the dishwasher 4-5 separate times, the Office Manager would not concede that they could not properly fix the issue. I receive a call from the Field Service Manager who proceeds to tell me that the dishwasher was run on “Quick” and the dishwasher does not dry on “Quick”. I informed him that I have run the dishwasher on Normal and Heavy, when I spoke to the customer service specialist on October 20th, I informed her of this matter. Additionally, the FSM tells me, “cups that are filled over retain water”. This had absolutely nothing to do with drying the plates, spoons, forks, bowls, or any other pots or pans in the dishwasher. The conversation did not go well with both the Office Manager and the Field Service Manager who both had no accountability and would not admit they could not fix the issue.

Each time either my wife or I would need to take ½ day off work to meet Cal Tex. If you were to calculate the lost hours and productivity from our employers, you would see that the cost/benefit ratio for Cal Tex service is extremely low. I would not recommend Cal Tex to anyone and they should really look at revising their business practices and customer service.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE Cal-TexHeats LLP appliance repair. The service is terrible!!! First appt with them they failed to show up, 2nd appt, showed up and was told a part had to be ordered and would take 2 or 3 days to get. I called after a few days and was rudely told it would take 7 to 10 days to get the part. I called Cal-Tex after two weeks and was told there was no record of a part being ordered, talked to Sonja and I was put on a lengthy hold while she ordered the part, which can be delivered to their business the same day (Fri) I now have an appt of Monday. When I was telling Sonja the sloppy way Cal-Tex runs their business and disrespect for their customers, the time I have invested in waiting for their repairman, the callsI have made to them, Sonja hung up on me!!! I then called back to talk to Sonja's boss, Fernando, and was told he was not in, when I was telling her of my frustrations again with the company and her rudeness she hung up on me AGAIN!!! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE CAL-TEX, it's not worth the aggravation.
