Established in 1971, Clayton Center provides a range of services to adults and children with mental illnesses, substance abuse and developmental disabilities. The Center operates under the authority of the Clayton Community Service Board, which is comprised of advocates, consumers, and their family members. Clayton Center works in a contract with the Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Addictive Diseases. In addition to providing treatment, support and prevention services, Clayton Center screens people for admission to state hospitals and give follow-up care when they are discharged. The center maintains a location in Conley, Ga.
