We recently had body repairs made to our Jeep Cherokee at Phoenix Auto Body on the recommendation of our regular mechanic. It took over a week for them to complete the work, which involved door replacement and other body work. When we picked up the Jeep, it looked like they had done a good job. While driving it home, I noticed that the interior lights were on and I could not figure out why. When we got it home, we realized that the interior lights had been wired to the circuit for the headlights, that the door locks no longer worked and that the windows did not work ( could not be put down using the controls). We called Phoenix and left a message. When it became clear the next morning that they were not planning on calling us back, we called. The guy we spoke to (Tim, I think) said his technician had told him these problems existed before they did the work. I drive this Jeep to work every day, we keep all of our Jeeps well maintained, and these are very obvious problems that could not have been overlooked. There is no chance that they did not cause these issues. Despite that fact, Tim denied that they were responsible, begrudgingly told us to bring the Jeep in to be repaired. He ultimately ended up calling our mechanic and telling us to bring it to him, and our mechanic would make the repairs. Our mechanic verified that he knew the electrical issues did not exist before the Jeep went to Phoenix. It now sits at our mechanic waiting to be repaired. We lost time from work, we were without the Jeep for over a week despite the fact that our other Jeep needed to go in for inspection before the end of the month, and it was a major hassle. Everyone makes mistakes, and if they people at Phoenix had just believed us, at least looked at the Jeep before completely denying that we were telling the truth, and made the situation right, I would not have been so upset. With insurance payments and our portion, they took in about $2400 for that repair. How much would we have had to pay to get them to check their work before they considered it done? They are darned lucky we didn't place a stop order on the check we gave them. Very disreputable business.
