Minor problems initially - i.e. sunscreen was not applied per written form provided by daycare and filled out by us the parents; when child was injured (bumped head/face) calls were supposed to have been made notifying us (per daycare policy) - but were not. Then problems escalated. Four+ teachers within a four month period - two of whom I witnessed verbally abusing and shaming four year old children (I am not exaggerating with my word choice). I brought this to the attention of office staff (as had other parents apparently) because those two teachers did not remain long. Simple communication that should have taken place (i.e. my child's progress) was not. But things really took a turn when we received a letter thanking us for "sticking with" Kings Keep at "this difficult time."I had to call the daycare to ask what this meant. I was then informed that Pastor Rusty's brother (a convicted child molester and registered sex offender) was allowed on daycare property during daycare hours with children present. This information was not shared with us or other parents whom we know. We had to call the Sheriff's dept. to find out that the pastor, the director, and the registered sex offender were "spoken to" and the misunderstanding/miscommunication" where they all thought it was "ok" for him to be around children, on daycare property during daycare hours was in fact incorrect. After this we began looking for a new daycare. And then we were "accidentally" charged over $700 (that we did not owe, we had already paid in full on our account via check two days prior). Needless to say the lack of communication at every level small and large is not the environment we want our children to be in and we do not have any trust whatsoever in any of the individuals who are associated with Kings Keep Learning Center in Concord, NC.

Notably good service experience

It was very hard to leave my one year old son at day care. I went to 18 different places before deciding on King's Keep. For the first week I called twice a day. They were honest, telling me that he was struggling, but okay. They gave me a realistic expectation of him needing 2 weeks to adjust and it helped to have that timeline. Sure enough, two weeks later he was great! They have rubberized flooring on the playground and an indoor gym which made me feel good about his safety (not eating mulch or hurting himself when he fell.) The infant rooms are pretty small, but the teachers are fantastic. I am very happy with my decision and he is doing well.
