From the time he was an undergraduate student University of California, Irvine, Andrew T. Vo, DDS, knew he didnt just want to be a great dentist, but also a great citizen. Now at Volterra Dental in Los Alamitos, California, Dr. Vo is changing the lives of his patients and the world as well. He has always strived to be well-rounded so that he can make a difference in the world. While a student at UCI, Dr. Vo founded an organization called Care-A-Thon and raised more than $300,000 to help local hospitals assist infants and their families in the NICU. His efforts at UCI didnt go unnoticed. Dr. Vo received the Sepideh Namazikhah Humanitarian Award, which recognizes a member of the graduating doctoral class who has consistently demonstrated compassion, dedication, and strength of character during the four-year doctoral program. Dr. Vo served as a captain for the US Army Dental Corps and is currently active with AYUDA, an organization that provides free dental care for those who are less fortunate. He has served on mission trips in third-world countries including, Mexico, Guatemala, and Colombia. In his spare time, he teaches a spin class and serves as co-captain for the first military team he founded to ride at AIDS/LifeCycle, which raised more than $20,000 to help end HIV/AIDS.
