The Upper Arlington Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that conducts periodic citizen surveys and organizes various neighborhood and vacation watch programs. It provides a variety of community services, such as fingerprinting, background checks, vehicle registration, gun permits, and domestic violence and sexual offenses prevention. The Upper Arlington Police Department also provides crime statistics, court dispositions and accident reports. The department maintains a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to law, firearms instruction, defensive tactics, first aid, patrol procedures and investigations. The Upper Arlington Police Department supports Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), which is an international education program that seeks to prevent the usage of illegal drugs, gang activities and violent behavior.
